Some of my works are currently touring in an exhibition titled “Civilization: the way we live now”, curated by William Ewing, Bartomeu Marí and Holly Roussell Perret-Gentil. The exhibition focuses on shared human experience and it reminds me of one of the first touring exhibitions, curated by Edward Steichen who was the director of MoMA’s Department of Photography in the middle of the last century. “The Family of Man” travelled for 8 years all around the world, during the Cold War, and took the form of a photo essay celebrating the universal aspects of the human experience.

After more than 60 years, “Civilization” shows us, through the eyes of many photographers, contemporary life. I am happy to be part of such a project, bringing my contribution to this world archive that hopefully will be shown in Italy too.
